About the project

My idea of this website is to provide a support page for optical designer during their design phase of optical systems. Therefore, I programmed different small applications. The focus of this website is currently on Zemax since I am mainly working with Zemax. This might be adapted to e.g. CodeV in the future.
There are many more ideas, so please be patient as time forces me to go step by step.
Current projects

ProjectLX is has been the first available application. It is an app that allows to extract the geometrical parameter (lens radii, thicknesses, diameter) of a photo/scan/image of on optical design sketch within seconds. It is available in a very first version, future adaptations are planned.
- Project-LX (Version 1.0 - 13.10.2025)
- Glassmap (Version 1.0 - 24.03.2026)
Moreover, the interactive AbbeDiagramm is available in a first stage as well. The basic features are already implemented, some additional features still to come. It allows to visualize the Abbe diagramm in various facets. Moreover, it enables the User to extract AGF files for Zemax directly.

Please consider this website as a guide, but always check its correctness with professional design programms! I will not take any responsability if catalog files are outdated, incorrect or incomplete.
Data security

Data security is an important topic. I do not collect any data! No cookies, no tracking, no analytics, no user accounts, no data storage. The only data that is saved are the mails that I recieve from you. :)
About the author

My name is Gregor and I am living in the geographical center of Germany, in Göttingen.
Since my school time, I am passionated for physics, especially for the relativity theory. The understanding of the behavior of light was fundamental at that time to follow the brilliant ideas of Einstein, which brought me finally to the domain of optics. Hence, I started studying physics and specialized early to the optics. Ultimately, I concluded my study of physics with a PhD in optics. The profound enthusiasm and dedication of my professor at that time, Dr. Herbert Gross, to the area of optical design had hence a significant influence on my future academic trajectory.
Over the past decade, my research has increasingly centered on the domain of optical design of systems. Presently, I am pleased to work as the Senior Optical Designer at Excelitas. The primary focus of my work here is the design of inspection objectives for the UV range, as well as the design of VIS objectives for broadband applications.
Within the last about twenty years, I am coding in different languages (Object Pascal, Python, C# ...). However, my JavaScript skills especially in combination with HTML and CSS files are still limited. I hope to improve here still a bit within the next years. So please consider this site still being in its infancy.
